After extensive public outreach and many public meetings, a Preliminary Draft General Plan for Claremont's future has been drafted. The Preliminary Draft General Plan was presented at this festival. During the next few months the City will be asking for your comments on the plan.

Community Festival 2 - March 21, 2005

At our second General Plan Community Festival the Claremont community was able to "test drive" development scenarios for certain areas of the City where change may occur over the next 20 years. The event began at 6 P.M. with an overview of the ideas and hopes the community has expressed over the past several months, followed by a presention of alternatives for change in eight focused areas of Claremont (see Land Use Focus Area Map).

After the presentation, residents had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the proposed development strategies by visiting the five breakout rooms in the Open House area. Residents were able to talk with City staff about the various options and, most importantly, comment on what they saw and heard. Comments will help guide the development of the General Plan.
